Calling Young Lady Organists!


The 13th Jennifer Bate Organ Academy is for young women organists aged 13 – 21 at St Catherine’s School, Bramley (near Guildford) from Tuesday 18th - Saturday 22nd April 2017. Whatever your level or aims, JBOA will help you. Classes in Repertoire, Improvisation, Ensemble Performance, Service Accompaniment & Choral Direction. Tutors include: Jennifer Bate, Stephen Farr & Katherine Dienes Williams. Means-tested bursaries are available.

Friday 31 March 7pm St. Matthew, Midgham, Reading. Organ recital by NDOA member Gillian Blythman (Thatcham) in aid of the organ restoration fund. Refreshments from 6.15pm.

Friday 21 April 12.30 - 1.15pm. Minster Church of St Mary the Virgin, Reading. Lunchtime Organ Recital by Jonathan Holl. Admission free. Retiring collection.

​Thursday 11 May 7.30pm. Reading Town Hall (Concert Hall). Celebrity organ recital on the Father Willis Organ by Simon Johnson (St Paul's Cathedral). Programme includes music by Mendelssohn, Cocker, Brewer, Whitlock, Thalben-Ball, Stanford, Bonnet and Widor. £10 including booking fee. Free pre-concert talk at 6.15pm.
